Urban Advertising Set To Work With Citymeals-On-Wheels
June 18, 2004 -- Downtown upstart Urban Advertising (www.urbanadvertising.com) announced today that it would be taking on creative and interactive duties for Citymeals-On-Wheels, an agency that has been delivering meals to New York's homebound elderly since 1979.
The relationship was inspired by an article that appeared in the New York Times citing potential funding cuts that threaten to significantly reduce the frequency of food deliveries to New York's homebound elderly. "It just seemed crazy to me that in a city as food obsessed as New York", said Bernard Urban, "these people could be in danger of losing not only the meals they rely on, but also the human contact that comes with them."
Deeply moved by the article Mr. Urban, whose agency is nearly two years old, was compelled to act. It didn't take long for him to see how he could help. "I knew that I could make the biggest contribution by doing what I do: communicating."
Sarah Oliphant, Development Associate at Citymeals-on-Wheels agrees, "We were thrilled by what the team at Urban walked in with. They showed that they understood us completely and found a way put a fresh take on our brand. We think the work will help us reach a greater audience."
Urban Advertising's first work for Citymeals-On-Wheels is expected to break in early July.
