Actors Deliver Drama To Raise Funds for Meals on Wheels

BURNABY, BC- September 9, 2003-- Burnaby Meals on Wheels has teamed up with the Heights Performance Centre to raise funds to buy meals for nutritionally needy residents.

All proceeds from the September 17th and 24th performance of David Mamet's Broadway award winning drama "American Buffalo" will be donated to Meals on Wheels. The $15 ticket price covers the cost of providing three meals to nutritionally needy residents.

"This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy local theatre while helping people live independently in their own home, maintain their health, or heal" states Program Director Sue Spencer.

Meals on Wheels is celebrating 35 years of providing nutritious hot and frozen meals –and social contact- to Burnaby residents unable to cook due to age, illness, or disability. Clients include seniors, cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, the chronically ill, and the disabled.

The performance will take place at the Height Performance Centre located in room 34A at 250 Willingdon Avenue. Show time is 7:00p.m.
